JME – Islington, London 2016

This collection features five portraits of JME, taken in Islington, London in 2016 for ShortList magazine. Two of the images were published at the time, while three remain unseen until now, making this release something truly special.

JME, one of the key figures in UK grime, is not only a founding member of Boy Better Know but also one of the genre’s most authentic and articulate voices. Known for his sharp flow, independence, and refusal to follow trends, JME helped shape grime into a global movement while keeping its spirit firmly rooted in London.

Shot on location with a mix of natural light and minimal setup, these portraits capture him exactly as he is — grounded, direct, and quietly powerful. The prints are produced from the original files, signed and numbered in a limited edition of 50, and come with a certificate of authentication.
